This story took thirty-two years to complete. Yes, that’s right, thirty-two years! In 1986, I wrote the original when I was twenty-six after completing a creative writing course. I’d proclaimed for as long as I could remember that I was to become a writer, and was I still was only dabbling.

By day, I’d work as a secretary, but at night I continued writing and even graduated from a film and television screenplay course. Despite my writing dream gleaming with potential, I walked away from writing not long after finishing Lucky This Time. I’d fallen into a partnership in a small retail opportunity, which grew into a successful franchising business. Over the next thirteen years, I funneled my creative drive into this until I married and began my family in 2000. I dabbled in online businesses in the early Internet days, but my priority became my children.
